Youth Circus Festival 2025 was held on 23 & 24 May in our own front lawn of
Victoria Park, in central Auckland.

We celebrated the fifth anniversary of the festival by hosting an scaled-down version at Circability Central, focusing on social circus on Friday, and community circus on Saturday. Our kaupapa is circus through play for all ages, all abilities, and all cultures, and this was evident in our attendance throughout the two-day event.

Youth Circus Festival is a community-building event, inviting attendees to try something new through play and join in a circus-based activity while meeting people of different backgrounds and experiences. An important facet of our work is facilitating this engagement with others, forging bonds through play. How fantastic was it to look around the park to see people seated in conversation with those they had just met? It’s fair to say that strengthening community was accomplished at this year’s event!
